September 4, 2012 News: Ameril Omra Kato, self-styled chief of the so-called Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement/Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), is reportedly weak and can hardly talk as result of a second seizure recently.
“His condition is deteriorating faster and only his wife and son are attending to him,” a reliable source told Luwaran recently.
“He is no longer in command of the BIFM/BIFF and is completely isolated and abandoned by his followers,” the source added.
The BIFM/BIFF split from the MILF and after an exhaustive attempt by the MILF to win them back but to no avail, the MILF declared them as bughaat, an Arabic term for one or group who rebel against the ruler or those who do not obey a lawful order or duly organized authority.
In resolution No. 03-06 Series of 2011 the MILF Central Committee, taking into full consideration and finally adopting the decision of the Assembly of the Ulama on June 27, 2011 declaring Ameril Omra Kato, his companions, and followers as “bughaat”, hereby made this declaration:
1.That Ameril Omra Kato, his companions and followers are “Bughaat”;
2.That Ameril Omra Kato, his companions and followers are no longer members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front unless they cease and desist without delay their anti-MILF campaigns and other related activities that are intended to discredit and destruct the entire legitimate leadership of the MILF and henceforth return at once to the fold of the MILF;
3.That Ameril Omra Kato, his companions and followers must return to the fold of the MILF immediately;
4.That Ameril Omra Kato, his companions and followers must stop immediately spreading rumors and malicious accusations against the leadership and members of the MILF; and
5.That the Assembly of the Ulama will meet again not later than ten (10) days after “Eidul Fitre” (end of Ramadhan) to decide what is the best option in order to preserve the brotherhood, unity, solidarity, cooperation and dignity of the leadership and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front for the preservation and maintenance of its unified political leadership and military command.
