January 3, 2012: A gunman wearing a bonnet shot and killed a City Government employee in a west coast village of Zamboanga City.

The incident took place around 9:20 p.m. Friday, December 30, in the village of Cabatangan, west of this city.

December 29, 2011: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), through the Office of Secretary-General Ekmeluddin Ihsanoglu, sent a delegation to calamity-hit Northern Mindanao to see and assess the devastation wrought by ‘Typhoon Sendong’ on people and infrastructure and also to provide immediate relief to the tens of thousands of families, both Christian and Muslim, whose homes were destroyed and who lost loved ones to the deluge.
