Nonviolent Peaceforce convenes community forum in Maguindanao

August 7, 2010 – The Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) Philippines convened last August 4 a community forum at its Field Office in Poblacion of Datu Piang, Maguindanao as part of its programs to strengthen consciousness and convergence effort on civilian protection particularly in conflict areas.

The forum facilitated by NP brought together the major and key players on the ground for the ongoing peace process between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) as well as international humanitarian organization and United Nations agencies in a proactive interaction in pursuing peaceful resolution of armed conflict and civilian protection.
