USM Moro Student reaps 4th Place in International Qur’an Reading Competition

Muhamiden B. Umpong, a freshman student of the University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan, North Cotabato reaped the 4th place at the International Qur’an Reading Competition held at Brunie Darussalam on October 26, 2017.

Umpong is taking up Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies at the Institute of Middle East and Asian Studies. About 23 individuals mostly from ASEAN nations participated in the International competition. He is a native resident of Carmen, North Cotabato.

The Dean of the Institute, Prof. Badrodin S. Abdulkadir, the faculty, staff and students warmly welcome him upon his return from Brunie.
