The Damakling Political Committee of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) held a whole day Bangsamoro Symposium with the theme ‘’Enjoin what is Right, and Forbid what is Wrong’’ last February 05, 2018 at Markadz Da’wah Al Islamia Darusalam, Brgy. Paitan, Mangudadatu, Maguindanao.
Hay‘atul Ulama Branch 6 Chairman Sheikh Abdulfatah Delna in his message underscored, “Let us unite and strengthen our relationship as Muslim brothers ,and open our minds, and hears to understand the real situation of Bangsamoro agenda in Mindanao peace process.”
Sheikh Hisham Nando, member of Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI) Steering Committee told the participants to understand their vital role in the peace process as leaders, and catalysts for change.
“Being a role model in Muslim Community, you will promote lasting peace and development,” added Nando.
Prof. Esmael A. Abdula, President of Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute (KPI), gave update on Bangsamoro Peace process, and the Status of Bangsamoro Basic Law 2017 drafted by the 21 members of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission.
“Understanding the Bangsamoro Peace Process, and the Status of BBL 2017 can level off peoples’ understanding on the current peace process between the Government of the Philippines, and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, and manage the peoples’ frustrations”, Abdula said.
“Addressing the Moro Historical Injustices is one way of achieving final, and long lasting solution to the Mindanao problem”, Abdula emphasized.
“The Philippine Government should pass the BTC-drafted BBL to end decade-long armed hostilities in Mindanao, thereby creating the Bangsamoro Political Entity”, Abdula said.
Other guests were one officer of the MILF-BIAF 109th Base Command, KPI staff members Molox Ukat, and Abdulaziz Talib, Samer Mamalaguia, an active youth leader, and BDA- PDC of Damakling, Sheikha Halima Mambang, President of Association of Bangsamoro Women for Community Development (ABCD).
Members of Darussalam Municipal Committee, Community leaders, religious and traditional leaders, MILF-BIAF senior, and field commanders and women sector attended the symposium.
