North Cotabato PolCom holds Peace Advocacy

MLANG, NORTH COTABATO (March 6, 2018) --- “Peace Negotiation is the practical means of resolving the Mindanao problem”, said Professor Esmael A. Abdula, President of Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute and BLMI Training Officer in a Peace Advocacy organized by the MILF Political Committee of North Cotabato.

“The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is committed for the peaceful settlement of the Mindanao problem to end the Mindanao armed conflict”, Abdula added.

Abdula emphasized that, “People’s participation is vital in the implementation of all peace agreements between the Philippine government, and the MILF.”

“We support the MILF leadership in its political struggle,” said Franco Sagadan, Former Barangay Captain of Dunggoan, Mlang, North Cotabato. 

Sagadan said that community leaders should conduct forum, and other activities to inform people of the contents of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) crafted by the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) so that people can understand, and support its passage.

Mohammad Antao, Board Member of 1st District of North Cotabato told the participants that “Supporting the passage of the BBL can help resolve, and end the hostilities in Mindanao.”

“Let us promote, and support peace in Mindanao”, Antao emphasized.

Community leaders, religious and traditional leaders, MILF Political Committee, MILF-BIAF field commanders and women sector attended the Advocacy.
