MILF North Cotabato PolCom holds Peace Forum in Kabacan town

Kabacan, North Cotabato- In a Peace Forum organized by North Cotabato Political Committee held in this town on March 8 Professor Esmael A. Abdula, BLMI Steering Committee member and Training Officer, said “Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) is the answer to the centuries-old Mindanao Problem of Question.”

In a Peace Forum organized by the MILF Political Committee of North Cotabato, Abdula emphasized that there is a need to level off one’s understanding of the peace process so that he can strengthen his support for the immediate passage of BBL that will establish the Bangsamoro political entity.”

He said high expectations on the outcome of the BBL in congress, and wrong attitude will eventually lead to frustrations. But participation in the peace efforts is one way of strengthening the Moro clamor for right to self-determination.

He added the natural death of Bangsamoro legitimate struggle within our heart is defeatism and frustrating.

“The passage of a CAB-compliant BBL is unilateral to Government of the Philippines,” Abdula said further.

The crafting of BBL, its submission and passage by congress is contained in the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) signed in August 2014 between the Philippine Government and the MILF.

In the CAB, it says that the purpose of this Basic Law is to establish a political entity, provided for its basic structure of government in recognition of the justness and legitimacy of the cause of the Bangsamoro people and their aspiration to chart their political future through a democratic process that will secure their identity and posterity and allow for meaningful self-governance.
