MILF launches Qur'anic institution in Sultan sa Barongis

Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao-The MILF Sub-Committee on Qur'anic Affairs spearheaded the launching of Markaz Suhail, a newly established Qur'anic Institution at  Sitio Mamalo, Brgy. Barurao, Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao on January 25, 2020.

The said event was participated by representatives of various MILF Line Agencies such as the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF), Political Committee, Social Welfare Committee (SWC), and Sub-Committee on Qur'anic Affairs.

 Also in attendance were representatives from MILF Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (MILF-CCCH), Barangay Officials, traditional leaders, Islamic and Secular Scholars, and barangay residents of Barurao, and nearby areas.

The importance of deep understanding of the real context of the Qur'an which is one of the major sources of genuine peace and security in a community was highlighted during the launch. Internalizing the meaning of the Qur'an gives inner peace to everyone from which a greater peace in a society, and to the entire nation emanates.

Furthermore, everyone was encouraged to hold tightly to the authentic teachings of the Qur'an and not to fall into traps of spoilers of peace who falsely introduce Islamic teachings for their personal interest. This Qur'anic Institution is aimed to prevent people from being victims of these traps, and ill motives.

Shiekh Mas'od Lantong, Chairman of MILF Sub-Committee on Qur'anic Affairs, discussed community roles to ensure the success of this newly built institution. 

The LGU officials, community leaders, BIAF, Ulama, and local populace vowed to work hand in hand in sustaining the smooth operation of this Qur'an institution, in support to its Mudir (Administrator), Ustadh Yasir Ebrahim.

Preservation of the Qur'an and teaching its authentic meaning is one of the major programs of the MILF for a sustainable peace in the Bangsamoro Region. In the propagation of authentic Islamic doctrines, more individuals will be molded in becoming true peace builders leading towards brighter and progressive nation.
