NCMF Tawi-Tawi delivers food packs to frontliners and residents of remote villages

BONGAO TAWI-TAWI- Despite a limited personnel and resources, Ms. Ascelaine Pajiji Malande, Official of National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) in Bongao Tawi-Tawi leads the NCMF Tawi-Tawi Taskforce against Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 Pandemic by distributing food packs, Sunday (April 19, 2020) to PNP, Philippine Marines, and barangay tanods (guards) checkpints who served as frontliners in the country’s fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Ms. Pajiji Malande was accompanied by her colleagues and some volunteers from Women sector, and Social Welfare Committee (SWC) of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). 

Quarantine checkpoints in downtown Bongao, and barangay passageways are manned by Philippines National Police, Philippines Marines, and barangay tanod who are guarding the vital areas of entry and exit points in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 during the enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The NCMF Tawi-Tawi Taskforce also visited, and delivered 350 food packs, Thursday, relief supplies to most vulnerable families in Barangay Karungdong, a remote Barangay in Bongao Tawi-Tawi. 

Like other provinces, Tawi-Tawi Provincial Government and its eleven Municipal LGUs have taken appropriate and necessary measures in compliance with Presidential Proclamation 922, guidelines and protocols set by National Inter-Agency Taskforce against COVID-19 to ensure its full implementation in the province. 

As of this moment, the province is still COVID-Free yet the Provincial Government along with municipal LGUs are still implementing the ECQ as necessary unless modified into General Community Quarantine (GCQ) on April 30, by concerned authorities based on COVID-19 level of risk and threat as assessed by IATF, and announced by President Rodrigo R. Duterte, Friday.
