Simunul CSOS, cooperative associations hold info-drive and forums in support to BTA extension 2025.

Bongao, Tawi-Tawi (March 13, 2019)-The BTA Staff from the Office of MP Prof. Abdulla A. Ahang in collaboration with peace advocate from the Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI) and Civil Society Organizations sailed an extra miles to conduct Information-drive and gathering valuable inputs from the Bangsamoro grassroots communities.
CSO and Cooperatives officers in the areas headed by Eng. Alawi Amin and Alkareem Hussin along with other peace advocates organized and hosted the activity in a bid to provide updates on the development and programs of the Regional Government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

Community leaders and organized sectors from different barangays in the said municipality attended the community forum and meeting who wanted to know the BARMM programs and the developments taking place in the BARMM.

Staff from the Office of MP Abdulla A. Ahang along with CSO partners who reached out to the Island municipalities and barangays gave updates to the constituents on the current programs and other services of BARMM for Tawi-Tawi populace. 

Mr. Gabra Abdurahman, a CSO Officer and MP Ahang Staff said that knowing the real issues and be participative in peace-building are among our basic contributions in sustaining the atmosphere of peace in our community. 

The call for BTA extension to 2025 is a crucial move to sustain the gains of peace agreement by giving the BTA to complete its mandates in compliance with Government and MILF Peace pact. The Peace dividends will ultimately  redound to everyone. Abdurahman said.    

Mr. Alhakim Nasa and Mr. Abdulwahid Ibrahim, Jr. have facilitated a series of meetings and forum which were attended by CSO, Cooperative officers and peace advocates group of Simunul from different affiliation who  collectively reaffirmed their commitment and support for BTA Extension to give way to Bangsamoro Transition Authority a needed time to fully translate the Government and MILF peace agreement into doable implementation. 

“The BTA is still in the process to legislate enabling laws and priority codes to empower the BTA-BARMM for its different ministries and other agencies to be more operational in line with ministerial set up of governance. The call for BTA extension is much needed to realize all that basic foundation.” Ibrahim said   

for his part, Mr. Tirso Tahir, a BLMI, CSO Officer and also BTA Staff of MP Ahang encouraged the Bangsamoro people to be more patient during this transitional period that BTA is in its course in exerting necessary efforts and take measures responsive to Bangsamoro plight and welfare. 
“Its predecessor ARMM has been in powere for almost 29 Years compared to BARMM which was only established in early 2019. Like other regions of the country, the BARMM is also affected by COVID-19 pandemic, therefore, our call for BTA extension up to 2025 is imperative to complete the implementation of peace agreement especially in the normalization aspects,”Tahir said. 

Other related issues and concerns were raised and clarified during the open forum.. Both Tahir and Abdurahman expressed their profound gratitude to Simunul CSO members, Cooperative Officers and its populace for the warm welcome and participation in Peace-building.
