MILF Central Committee officially recognizes Bandar Rajah Buayan as separate political unit

The announcement was made on April 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM, during a meeting with the five Chairmen of the Provincial Political Committees from Southern Mindanao, recognized under the Bangsamoro Organic Law as Other Bangsamoro Communities (OBC). The attendees were:
Alifah "Orly" Ampatuan, Alah Provincial Committee
Omar Bua, newly installed Chairman of Daguma Provincial Committee
Chairman Sheikh Arapha Macabangen, Koronadal Provincial Committee
Chairman Kingboy Bayang, Biwang Provincial Political Committee
Chairman Datu Osmiña "Thong" Salisipan, Soguda Buayan Political Committee
During the meeting, Secretary Amin reaffirmed that Bandar Rajah Buayan was officially approved, recognized, and confirmed as a distinct political unit on January 2, 2022, by the MILF Central Committee under the authority of Chairman Mohagher M. Iqbal. He clarified that the Bandar is separate from the former jurisdiction of the Soguda Buayan Political Committee.
Amin emphasized that the decision aims to put an end to speculations and prevent undesirable intervention from external or internal forces.
The leadership of Bandar Rajah Buayan also submitted a request for formal appointment during their transition from armed struggle to a political and social movement, which the Central Committee granted. Further steps will be taken in accordance with movement protocols.
"This declaration puts a period to all doubts and closes the door to unwanted interference," said Secretary Amin, reinforcing the MILF’s commitment to political transformation and the orderly integration of its communities.
