UBJP Holds Miting de Avance in Cotabato City Led by MILF Chairman Murad Ebrahim

Since the UBJP slate's victory in the 2022 local elections, the Matabalao administration, in close coordination with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Government of the Day, has overseen notable advancements in infrastructure, social services, and economic development in the city. These achievements were highlighted as part of the administration’s commitment to inclusive, peace-rooted, and service-oriented governance.
“Our party has faced many challenges over the years. Some of those we previously supported have since left our ranks. But these setbacks did not stop us from continuing to serve,” Chairman Murad said in his speech. “Today, we stand united with a new team that we will elect, In Shaa Allah, this coming Monday.”
Murad also urged Cotabateños to support UBJP candidates in the May 12 elections to help realize the party’s vision of transforming Cotabato City into a premier urban center and the administrative hub of the Bangsamoro region.
He further emphasized the importance of maintaining the region’s autonomy, the peace gains, and the reform agenda through full electoral participation. The chairman also officially announced the party’s endorsement of its chosen senatorial candidates.
Among those present during the event were MILF Peace Implementing Panel Chair and UBJP Vice President for Central Mindanao Mohagher Iqbal, UBJP Secretary-General and Interim BARMM Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” Macacua, and Bai Sandra Sema, who is running for representative of Maguindanao del Norte and Cotabato City. Other senior officials from both the MILF Central Committee and UBJP Central Party Committee were also in attendance, along with the full slate of UBJP-Cotabato City candidates for mayor, vice mayor, and city council.
The UBJP-Cotabato City team reaffirmed their commitment to advancing development and governance reforms based on the principles of Moral Governance — a leadership model rooted in Islamic values that guides BARMM’s political trajectory through accountability, justice, and integrity.
