CM Macacua Reflects on Sacrifice in Eid’l Adha Message

Drawing from his experience as Chief of Staff of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), CM Macacua stated, “Ang sakripisyo ay hindi lang konsepto—ito ay buhay na naranasan namin.” He highlighted the personal and collective sacrifices made in the pursuit of peace and justice for the Bangsamoro people.
Referencing the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), he noted that the Bangsamoro have similarly offered their lives, time, and dreams for the greater good. He quoted Surah Al-Hajj (22:37):
“It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him.”
CM Macacua concluded with a call for unity and service, stating, “Ang Eid ay paalala na ang tunay na sakripisyo ay nanggagaling sa taos-pusong pagsunod kay Allah (SWT). Ganyan din sana ang ating panunungkulan—hindi para sa sarili, kundi para sa kapakanan ng buong rehiyon.”
He extended his Eid greetings to all Bangsamoro households, praying that Allah SWT accepts their sacrifices.
CM Macacua assumed office as Interim Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on March 12, 2025, succeeding Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim. Prior to this, he served as Governor of Maguindanao del Norte from April 2023 to March 2025. He has also held various positions within the Bangsamoro Transition Authority and the MILF, contributing significantly to the region's governance and peace efforts.
