The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) has officially denied recent allegations regarding irregularities in its procurement processes.  Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal addressed claims circulating online about the acquisition of Learners’ Kits and Teachers’ Kits.

In a statement released on Tuesday (June 10), the Education Minister  emphasized that all procurement activities comply with Republic Act No. 9184, also known as the Government Procurement Reform Act. He reassured the public that the Ministry follows strict internal and external controls and that all transactions are audited by the Commission on Audit (COA).

Iqbals dismissed claims that a P1.7 billion transaction occurred in a single day without proper review, calling them misleading. He also acknowledged allegations that some Kits were being sold to teachers and announced an internal investigation to verify these claims.

The Minister reiterated that no outside individuals, including relatives of officials, have influenced procurement decisions.

He urged the public and media to seek clarification from official sources before believing unverified reports, reaffirming the MBHTE's commitment to providing quality education services to the Bangsamoro people.
