Cotabato City, Philippines — Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua has rejected the courtesy resignations submitted by six of his Cabinet members in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), according to a statement released by the regional government spokesperson on Saturday.
Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua has officially declined the courtesy resignations submitted by six members of his Cabinet in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). This announcement was made public on Saturday through a statement from the Bangsamoro government spokesperson.

The ministers whose resignations were not accepted are:

1. Akmad Brahim, Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy
2. Atty. Ubaida Pacasem, Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Management
3. Dr. Khadil Sinolinding Jr., Ministry of Health
4. Muslimin Sema, Ministry of Labor and Employment
5. Atty. Raissa Jajurie, Ministry of Social Services and Development
6. Deputy Minister and Acting Minister Jehan Usop, Ministry of Science and Technology

The spokesperson explained that Chief Minister Macacua’s decision was based on clear criteria assessing competence, experience, physical fitness, and, importantly, adherence to the Moral Governance Agenda.

“These standards enabled the Chief Minister to make informed and objective decisions which are deemed necessary to uphold the effectiveness and efficiency of our services as we approach the end of the transition period,” the statement read.

The spokesperson also noted that deliberations concerning the courtesy resignations of other ministers and office heads remain ongoing.

“In the meantime, the ministers and heads of offices not mentioned above are enjoined to continue performing their limited functions until final decisions are made regarding their respective courtesy resignations,” the statement added.

Earlier in June, Chief Minister Macacua had issued a memorandum requiring all ministers, deputy ministers, and office heads to submit courtesy resignations in response to “serious and grave complaints” brought before him. The nature of these complaints has not been disclosed.
