MILG welcomes new leadership as Chief Minister takes helm

The turnover ceremony, held at Bajau Hall in the Office of the Chief Minister, was attended by key MILG officials including Deputy Minister Eddie Mapag Alih, Director General Engr. Khalid Dumagay, service directors, and provincial and city leaders. Officials from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) government, such as Senior Minister Mohammad S. Yacob and Chief of Staff Jamel B. Macacua, were also present.
Macacua acknowledged the responsibilities accompanying his dual roles and expressed his commitment to strengthening institutions, empowering local officials, and supporting communities. He underscored moral governance as a guiding principle in the ministry’s work.
Minister Dumama-Alba, who served since 2020, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead during the formative years of the government’s transition. She highlighted her team’s dedication to promoting good local governance, public safety, and moral governance.
Deputy Minister Eddie Mapag Alih lauded Minister Dumama-Alba’s leadership for its professionalism and stability, and welcomed Macacua’s decision to assume the MILG portfolio as a positive step toward consolidating governance.
The leadership turnover symbolizes continuity and renewed commitment to advancing peace, order, and responsive governance throughout the Bangsamoro region.
