40,000 supporters flock to UBJP-SGA grand proclamation rally

PIKIT, North Cotabato — An estimated 40,000 supporters from the two districts of the Special Geographic Area (SGA) attended the Grand Proclamation Rally of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party–SGA (UBJP-SGA) here on August 9, 2026, as the party formally launched its bid for the upcoming Bangsamoro Parliament elections.
The rally, held at the Pikit Municipal Gymnasium starting around 8:00 a.m., featured the formal introduction of the UBJP-SGA candidates, who presented their platforms and appeals to voters across the SGA.
A highlight of the program was the endorsement of the party's two parliamentary bets: Mansor Ebrahim, candidate for Parliament Representative of the First District, and Elaysa Enalang Latiban, candidate for Parliament Representative of the Second District.
MILF Chairman and UBJP President Ahod "Al Haj Murad" Ebrahim personally led the endorsement of the two candidates, underscoring the party leadership's support for their bid to represent the SGA in the Bangsamoro Parliament.
A large contingent of supporters backing First District candidate Mansor Ebrahim traveled from the municipalities of Pahamuddin, Kadayangan, Nabalawag, and Tugunan — joining a convoy that made its way to the venue and contributing to the day's turnout.
The Grand Proclamation Rally is part of a series of campaign activities being held by political parties ahead of the first regular elections for the Bangsamoro Parliament, scheduled for September 14, 2026.
