BLMI, IBS conduct Seminar-Workshop on Public Speaking

The Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI) and the Institute of Bangsamor Studies (IBS) conducted Public Speaking Seminar-Workshop on July 30-31, 2016 at BLMI Training Center, Crossing Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

The BLMI is headed by Uz. Mahmod Ahmad, while the IBS is headed by Professor Abhoud Syed Lingga.

The two-day activity was designed, facilitated and hosted by Noraida A. Datumanong, Chairperson of Protection, Education and Health for Mindanao Women and Children INC. (PEHMWaC).  Selected participants from different agencies of Bangsamoro participated in the activity, while the speakers came from the Toastmasters International, Sultan Kudarat chapter.

Baby L Dalgan of Toast Masters International Competent Communicator and Master Teacher and Assistant to the Principal of Lambayong National High School lectured on speech outline, writing and preparations.

Acremah M. Balayanan, also a Master Teacher in English of President Quirino, National High School and Competent Communicator of Toast Masters International delved on presentations of speech in front of an audience.

The first day of the training was more on lectures, workshops and open forum.

The second day was the presentation of participants’ prepared speeches in front of a video while being evaluated by the speakers.

The presentation of the evaluation of every participant’s speech was the highlight of the training where the participants learned their shortcomings and advances which led them to buzz and wish to have another round of training.

Mohagher Iqbal, MILF Peace Panel Chair and also Chair of the BLMI’s Oversight Committee who initiated the conduct of the seminar-workshop spoke on the significance of Public Speaking in the Bangsamoro and how public speaking skills can help the Bangsamoro.
By becoming a good public speaker, you can help Bangsamoro, Knowledge in public speaking helps good leadership, Chairman Iqbal said.
