Maranaos hold anti-drug rally in Marawi City

Maranaos held a Prayer Rally last Thursday (Sept 22) in Marawi City to push the eradication of illegal drugs and in support to President Rodrigo Duterte’s war against the prohibited substance which has victimized at least more than seven hundred thousand citizens of the country.

Aleem Bashier Manalao, former Lanao del Sur Governor and founding chairman of Ulama National Solidarity Conference of the Philippines (UNSCP), led the activity which was joined by Muslim religious leaders, women and youth.

Manalao enjoined fellow Bangsamoro people to act towards the eradication of prohibited drugs which has been sowing menace in society citing the undertaking is for the future of young generation.

The Duterte administration has been engaging in total war against those behind the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country particularly the drug lords, protectors and pushers.

Figures from the Philippine National Police reveals thousands of drug users and victims every day in the country presented themselves to authorities to surrender and pledged to leave the vice.

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has also staged its own campaign for the eradication of Shabu in the Bangsamoro communities.
