The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) bagged the championship of the First National Musabaqah Skills Exhibition held at Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay on December 5-9, 2016.
The activity was aimed to provide the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) learners with opportunities to showcase their skills and talents though exhibition of their performance.
Delegates from different regions of the country participated in the event which has the theme “Empowering ALIVE learners as Stewards of Peace, Unity and Goodwill.
The participating pupils gave their best skills exhibitions on Harf touch, Arabic language (spelling), Islamic Values Education (quiz bee), Qur’an Memorization (Hifdhu Qur’an), Qur’an Reading (Qiraatul Qur’an), Call to Prayer (Adhan), Poster Making, Choir (Islamic Songs), and Regional Booth.
ALIVE is offered to Muslim pupils and students in public elementary and secondary schools in the country.
More comprehensive Islamic education is offered by private Madaris (plural for Madrasah or Islamic school). Madaris classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays or Monday to Friday. Some Madaris have integrated secular education in their curriculum.
