"BEYOND PEACE TABLES: REFLECTIONS ON THE GPH-MILF PEACE PROCESS ”: By Dato Tengku Abdul Ghafar launched at Camp Darapanan

Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao –A book entitled BEYOND PEACE TABLES: REFLECTIONS ON THE GPH-MILF PEACE PROCESS," authored by the late GPH-MILF Third Party facilitator  DATO TENGKU ABDUL GHAFAR was launched yesterday, August 19 at Camp Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

The book gave a glance on how the peace process between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) moved on and succeeded in the signing of two political documents, the FAB and the CAB, especially from a perspective of a Third-Party Facilitator.

Dr. Emme Leslie, Executive Director of CPCS gave the opening remarks, while MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim delivered a message that recognized and praised the efforts and major contributions of the author to the GPH-MILF Peace Process. 

Aside from MILF Chair Ebrahim, H.E. Kamarudin Bin Mustafa and former OPAPP Sec. Deles, other important personalities who attended the book launched and delivered their respective messages were:

1. OPPAP Undersecretary Nabil Tan, Chairperson of GPH Implementing Peace Panel

 2. Mohagher Iqbal, Chairperson of MILF Peace Implementing Panel 

 3. Dr Emma Leslie, Executive Director,  Centre for Peace & Conflict Studies (CPCS) 

4. Prof. Miriam Ferrer-Coronel, former Chairperson of GPH Negotiating Peace Panel

 5.  Homiera Babarachi , Children of the late Facilitator, namely Shafur Tengku, Yamin Shafie, Shila     Tengku , and Shariar Tengku , and Granddaughers Katiya Yamin, and Kiyanoush Yamin.
