GPH Peace Implementing Panel to Hand over R.A. 11054 to its MILF Counterpart

The Government Peace Implementing Panel (GPH-PIP) will officially hand over Republic Act 11054 or the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to its counterpart, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front Peace Implementing Panel (MILF-PIP) on August 8, 2018 at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex, a Press Release from the MILF dated August 7, 2018 said. 

The handover rites came after the ceremonial turnover of the BOL by President Rodrigo Duterte to MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim on August 6, 2018 at the Malacañang Palace. The turn-over will be led by Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) Undersecretary and GPH-PIP Chairman Nabil A. Tan and his counterpart MILF-PIP Chairman Mohagher Iqbal. 

The press release also reiterated the acceptance of the BOL by the MILF Central Committee as announced by Chairman Al Haj Murad during the “Forum on Understanding Bangsamoro Organic Law” at the Notre Dame University (NDU), Cotabato City on August 4, 2018. 

The MILF has officially transmitted its decision to the President through a letter signed by Chairman Al Haj Murad after the Special Meeting of the Central Committee on August 1, the press release said.
