Adequate funds for better Bangsamoro Education seen in the new Bangsamoro Government

COTABATO CITY - "There will be an additional funding from block grant in the organic law that will be utilized for education program that supports the education of the Bangsamoro people," CHED Commissioner Dr. Amor Pendaliday said in an interview. 

He said that education will be one of the priorities of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) government on the transition period led by the Interim Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim. 

Before the January 21 and February 6, 2019 plebiscites on the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), the Task Force 121 headed by Esmail W. Ebrahim initiated efforts to strengthened campaigns through organizing several fora including a forum on the future of the education sector in the Bangsamoro last January 17, 2019 at Pagana Native Restaurant, Cotabato City. 

The fora were also aimed to determine, and design programs for the future of education in the Bangsamoro and to shed lights to different educators who attended the fora on the future direction of the BARMM on education as part of the priorities of the new leadership, and as a basic right of the Bangsamoro people in the region.

In a turn over ceremony of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) on February 26, the Governor of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Mujiv Hataman emotionally expressed his thanks and gratitude to the leadership of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in supporting him to realize his development agenda during his term. 

He said that now that he has handed-over the authority and responsibility to the appointed Chief Minister of the BARMM, he asked the support of the employees and staff of the region to extend their full support for the success of the new government. 

ICM Al Haj Murad in his acceptance message emphasized that the new entity will serve genuinely the needs of its people in accordance with the principles of social justice, equality and good governance.

Among the ministers appointed by the ICM was the Chairman of the MILF Peace Implementing Panel and member of the Bangsamoro Parliament Hon. Mohagher Iqbal as the interim Minister of Basic, Higher, Technical and Madaris Education
