BARMM distributes medical equipment in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY (February 15, 2020) – Health care providers in Maguindanao are now equipped with modern facilities to respond to the health needs of their constituents.

This, as the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) turned over some PHP16.2 million worth of medical equipment to various rural and barangay health stations in the province of Maguindanao on Friday.

The distribution of the medical equipment was made through the BARMM’s Humanitarian and Development Assistance Program (HDAP).

“The Bangsamoro government is pleased to inform everyone that we are determined in improving the public health condition of the BARMM,” BARMM Chief Minister Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim said in a statement read by Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Asnin Pendatun.

“As I have always emphasized, our priority is to improve the well-being of our people; to ensure access to quality health care services, education, and social welfare,” Ebrahim said.

Ebrahim assured that BARMM will continue to finish the remaining programs of the defunct ARMM and it “shall be done consistent with our call for moral governance.”

Among the beneficiaries of the medical facilities are five rural health units of the towns of Datu Piang, Talayan, Datu Salibo, Mamasapano and Talitay in Maguindanao’s second congressional district.

A total of 34 Barangay Health Units also received medical equipment. (PNA)
