BANGSAMORO COMMUNITY LEADERS HOLD MEETING ON THE CALL FOR BTA-BARMM EXTENSION TO 2025

CABATANGAN, ZAMBOANGA CITY- March 10, 2021. The Civil Society Organization (CSO) in collaboration with Bangsamoro Communities Outside of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BCOBAR) have intensified their info-drive and advocacy on the call for the extension of Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) to 2025 at Villa Italiana, Barangay Cabatangan, Zamboanga City, Sunday.
Mr. Ekong Insani along with other BCOBAR officers organized series of activities in a bid to intensify their efforts in promoting peace that objectively providing updates and support to BARMM in its call for BTA Extension to 2025 in order complete the implementation of the peace agreement between the Philippine Government and the MILF.

The Barangay Chairman of Cabatangan Mr. Ramon Dagun one of the invited guests shared similar perspective with the Bangsamoro residing outside the BARMM and the non-Moros in sustaining the peace and development in their areas. 

On the part of Ustadh Taha Daranda, a CSO head in Zamboanga City outlined the significance of supporting peacebuilding and encouraged them to be participative. 

The Bangsamoro constituents here in the city are gradually enjoying the peace dividends even to non-Bangsamoro since the BOL is inclusive, thus the call for the extension of BTA-BARMM to 2025 is imperative for doable implementation of the eace agreement,”. Ustadh Daranda said. 
The advocacy in this part of Zamboanga City was facilitated by Mr. Tirso Tahir, an Officer of Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI), and a CSO Peace Advocate providing technical assistance, updates on BARMM, and other related issues related to existing programs and services for the Bangsamoro people. 

“The BTA is still in its transitional phase should be given enough time to complete its mandates by implementing various programs under the peace agreement, as we believed that non in any post conflict regions in the world have successfully completed the provisions on their peace pact in just a span of three-years,” Tahir said.
