COTABATO CITY — Moro Islamic Liberation Front Chairman and Bangsamoro Ameerul Mujahideen Al Haj Murad Ebrahim called on the Bangsamoro people to strengthen their faith, uphold moral governance, and work together for lasting peace as Muslims celebrate Eid’l Adha 1447 AH.

In his Eid’l Adha message posted on his official Facebook page on May 26, Murad joined the Muslim Ummah in commemorating Eid’l Adha that falls on May 27, 2026 or the Feast of Sacrifice, saying, “It is of utmost significance that we live up to the commemoration of one of the greatest feasts in Islam.”

Murad said the occasion reminds Muslims that “sa pamamagitan ng dakilang sakripisyo ay nalulugod natin ang Allah (SWT),” adding that through the steadfast faith of those who fought and sacrificed their lives, “kaya natin natatamasa ang araw na ito.”

He also urged the Bangsamoro people to value their blessings by helping those in need, saying, “ang ating sakripisyo at pagiging mapagbigay ay nagpapatibay ng ating pananampalataya at nagiging daan tungo sa pagbangon at kaunlaran sa gitna ng mga pagsubok na ating kinakaharap.”

Murad further called on the Bangsamoro community to “embrace the true essence of Eid’l Adha by strengthening our faith, promoting Moral Governance, helping build our nation, and working together for lasting peace.”

Eid’l Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is among the two major celebrations in Islam and commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. The celebration coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah and is marked by congregational prayers, animal sacrifice, and sharing food with relatives and the poor as symbols of faith, charity, and obedience to God.
