DATU BLAH SINSUAT, MAGUINDANAO– Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)- Kutawato Political Committee conducted peace advocacy in this town on March 12, 2018.
In his message during the advocacy program, MILF Kutawato PolCom Vice-Chairman Dhen Makir said that “Peace advocacy is an effective means of extending support to the Mindanao peace process.”
“We want peace, and justice to prevail in our communities,” Makir underscored.
He further said that advocacy can level off ones understanding of the current peace process between the Philippine Government, and the MILF. The GPH, and the MILF is now in the stage of implementation of the signed agreements most notably, the Frameworkd Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB), and the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) signed in 2012, and 2014, respectively
Guest speaker Professor Esmael Abdula, President of Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute and BLMI Steering Committee member and Training Officer explained the stages of Bangsamoro peace negotiations with the government of the Philippines.
“Peace process has been chosen by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front to resolve the Moro Question, and achieve lasting peace in Mindanao”, Abdula said.
Peace negotiation in less expensive, while engaging in war is very costly, aside from the sacrifice of human lives.
Abdula emphasized that, “Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) is a legal instrument for the implementation of the CAB, thereby establishing the Bangsamoro political entity.”
