TAF - anu hold strategic communications capacity building program

ILIGAN CITY.  May 2, 2018. The Asia Foundation (TAF) in partnership with Australia National University (ANU) held a two-day capacity building program workshop at Plaza Alemania Hotel, Iligan City on April 30 to May 1, 2018.

It was attended by different stakeholders and partners coming from peace and development partners, and security sector who play an important role in the peace process.

TAF Deputy Country Representative Ethan Geary graced the occasion.     

The resource persons are experts in the field of strategic communications referred by Australia National University namely, Dr.  Haroro J. Ingram and Prof. Todd Lederer.       

The important aspect of the workshop is the Psychology of Communication and Persuasion in which the participants will be having a broader understanding in the importance of automatic and deliberative thinking, mental models and social factors on how humans interpret information and make decisions. 

The workshop on Strategic Communications Campaign and Message Design aims that the participants having a better understanding of synchronizing mission, project and campaign goal setting and applying SPAMR  (support/synchronize ; persuasive aim; and measurable result) assessment. 

The learnings in this activity could be replicated by participants in their respective organizations or sectors supporting the peace process between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front ((MILF) particularly in the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) now being deliberated in congress.
