MILF to hold consultative assembly

Cotabato City --- The MILF is set to gather its military and political officers on July 29 at its headquarters in Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao to engage in mutual consultations on the Bangsamoro Basic Law reportedly signed already by Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte on the evening of July 26.

Von al Haq, spokesperson of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF), said over a local radio station here that their forces will attend the “Bangsamoro Consultative Assembly on BBL” inorder to get the right information on the law considered very vital to the implementation of the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) between the MILF and Government of the Philippines.

Al Haq said that they are expecting around 50,000 combatants and political committee members from all over Mindanao to converge in Camp Darapanan for the whole-day event.  He emphasized though that attending BIAF members will not bring firearms and will not wear military uniform.

Aside from its military wing and political committees, the MILF leadership also expects its other so-called line agencies to participate, especially women and religious.  ###
