MSO-NDMC conducts Islamic Symposium on BOL

The Muslim Students Association-Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) in partnership with Muslim Youth Religious Organization (MYRO), Voice of the Bangsamoro Youth (VBMY), and Bangsamoro Multimedia Network (BMN) conducted an Islamic Symposium with the theme “Understanding the Concept of Bangsamoro Organic Law” last August 25, 2018 at NDMC Gymnasium.

The program was attended by students of NDMC from secondary to tertiary level. The College President, Father Jonathan R. Domingo, OMI, showed his support by attending and giving a heartfelt message to the participants.

With the arrival of members of different partnered organizations, they were touched with the intermission numbers given by chosen officers of MSO-NDMC as part of welcoming the facilitators from MYRO and VBMY.

It was followed by a short message from Amir Hussein Sidik, President of MYRO-Notre Dame University Chapter who left a message about having clear intentions in doing things for the sake of Allahu Subhanahu wa’taalla.

“Dapat ay makialam tayo sa nangyayari. Makilahok sa mga bagay na may kabuluhan. Makialam at alamin kung ano ang nangyayari at manindigan tayo”, this was the eye opener message of Amier Dodo, one of the advisers of VBMY.

Another inspirational talk was given by Jihan L. Abulrasid, the head organizer of the Voice of the BM Youth(VBMY). She emphasized the importance of using social media as a tool to advocate peace.

It was then followed by video presentations showing the struggles faced by the Bangsamoro people in fighting for the Bangsamoro Organic Law. The videos showed the long journey of individuals who worked hard for the BOL. This had given the participants a glimpse about the concept of BOL and how long the Bangsamoro people have fought and still fighting for it.

Atty. Haron Meling, Executive Assistant to Commissioner Mohagher Iqbal of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) discussed the salient provisions of the Bangsamoro Organic Law and its concept.

The program ended with a Closing Du’a, giving of certificates and picture taking with the participants.
