Salihin Ali Asghar, Senior Staff of Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) Chair Ghazali Jaafar said in his message, ‘’First of all, praise be to Allah (S.W.T) for the holding of this event in celebration of the signing of BOL. He said that the BOL would provide more benefits to us Bangsamoro, and our communities.

Nasser Pulindao from the MILF Information Committee gave updates on BOL.

He mentioned the struggle of the Bangsamoro, as well as the series of negotiations that took place since 1976, until the signing of the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB) in 2012, and the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) in 2014.

The Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), formerly called Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) crafted by the BTC is the legal translation of the CAB that creates a new political entity called Bangsamoro Region. It will replace the current that President Noynoy Aquino considered as ‘failed Experiment’.

Pulindao said that under the Annex on Normalization which is part of the FAB, and the CAB, 30% of MILF combatants and weapons shall be decommissioned after the ratification of the BOL on January 21st in 2019. Thereafter, another two stages of decommissioning will follow, the last will be after the signing of the Exit Document.
