Former Bangsamoro migrant workers’ group receives rice assistance from MP Iqbal

COTABATO CITY – The office of Member of Parliament (MP) Mohagher Iqbal turned over 80 bags of 25-kilogram rice as assistance to the Former Overseas Bangsamoro Workers (FOBW) in a ceremony held at the Regional Educational Learning Center (RELC), BARMM Compound, Cotabato City on Monday, May 11
The turnover ceremony was led by Iqbal, who is concurrently the minister of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Iqbal thanked the members of the FOBW even as he recalled how they were received hospitably by these erstwhile migrant workers during their visits before in the Middle East.

He also gave some updates on the present status of the Bangsamoro autonomous region and said that in compliance with the principle of Moral Governance, no money or any irregularity was involved in the hiring of the one thousand teachers by the MBHTE of which he is the minister.

Badiuzzaman Saliao, chairman of the Board of Directors of the FOBW, expressed his gratitude to Iqbal and the entire leadership of the BARMM for the rice assistance.  

Tahir Nalg, president of the FOBW, disclosed that their group also earlier received 20 bags of 50-kilogram rice from the Office of MP Mohammad Yacob, who is also the minister of the BARMM’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR). 

The rice assistance was part of the 200 bags of 50-kilogram rice provided by the Office of Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim for every member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament in support to the needy constituents of the BARMM who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.  –
