BARMM’s PROJECT TABANG reaches Bangsamoro Communities in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY (August 8, 2020)- Depressed Bangsamoro communities in Zamboanga City have received 2, 000 sacks of rice assistance from Project Tabang of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Tuesday, August 4. 
This was the second wave of relief rice assistance extended by BARMM Regional Government through its program dubbed as “Project Tabang” – “Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong nangangailangan” under the office of Chief Minister Al Haj Ahod B. Ebrahim aimed to ease the hardships experienced by badly affected Bangsamoro communities by COVID-19 Pandemic. Other Bangsamoro Communities residing outside the BARMM have also received similar relief assistance.

Hadji Imlah Ajibon along with other Moro Community Leaders received the assistance, and later distributed them to various Moro households in Zamboanga City. MILF Agencies and committees helped in the distribution of the rice assistance.

Officer from Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI) Mr. Tirso S. Tahir helped in facilitating the distribution and the documentation of the relief operation to ensure its smooth delivery to the most vulnerable Moro communities in the city.

“It is not how many sacks or kilos of rice we received that counts most, but the gesture of concern and inclusiveness matter to us, especially during this hardest time where assistance are much needed by the poor families,” a community leader said. 

“Despite residing outside of the core areas, assistance like these from BARMM still reached us, and this is a big help to ease our burden during this pandemic,” magsukul tuud pa BARMM,” Bapah Mujah said. 

“We are really grateful to BARMM Regional Government particularly to Chief Minister Ebrahim for this rice assistance where the Bangsamoro living outside of the BARMM in different areas in Mindanao can feel the inclusiveness of BARMM governance in its programs as part of peace dividends that the Bangsamoro can reap,” Hadji Imlah said.
