DAB holds FGD on Moral Governance

Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao-The Development Academy of Bangsamoro (DAB conducted the third round of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on moral governance with representatives from the island provinces of BARMM-Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in Cotabato City.
The activity aimed to gather views and ideas that reflect the values and traditions of the people of the said provinces. The outputs of the activity shall be incorporated into the policies and guidelines of the moral governance platform of the Chief Minister Ahod "Murad" Ebrahim. 

Ustadh Hisham Nando, DAB Director for Operations quoted one of the speeches of the Chief Minister in his opening message that says, " Our government shall take the responsibility for the education of our children, our government shall take the responsibility for the health of our constituents, our government shall take responsibility for the economic development of our region, our gov't shall take responsibility for the infrastructure development of our areas, 

“I shall be responsible for leading a morally upright bureaucracy," Nando quoting CM Ebrahim to have said,

The module of the moral governance will be ready on or before the end of December this year, and we also plan to have an international conference on this topic.

 Dr. Shamsuddin Taya, Chief of DAB’s Research Department facilitated the focus group discussion. 

One of the questions asked, what do you know about BARMM's perspective on moral governance? 

Zhulfikars Samsaraji, participant from Sulu answered, "Moral governance means a political and faith-based governance". 

Another question raised, “Is BARMM moral governance applicable to the region? 

Majority answered in affirmative. They said that moral governance is relevant to the culture, traditions and values of the people of the region.

The last and fourth round of FGD would be for the Christian representatives.
