Sulu vegetable farmers complete 4-month FFS course

Twenty-nine (29) vegetable farmers of Sulu completed the four month Farmer’s Field School (FFS) which focused on good agricultural practices in vegetable production, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) posted in its Facebook page.
Farmers of Sitio Lahah, Patikul, Sulu, joined the activity that was conducted from May 26, 2020 towards the end of September.
The training was aimed to provide the beneficiaries with skills on vegetable production to sustain their livelihood activities amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the MAFAR– Sulu and MAFAR-BARMM for the support to the vegetable farmers.

They received their training certificates during the culmination program held at MAFAR Multi-Purpose Hall at Bangkal Sulu on September 28. 2020.
MAFAR also provided the participants with gardening tools that included hoes, sprinklers and rakes.

The initiative to capacitate the farmers with skills in vegetable production is part of MAFAR’s thrust to help increase the income of the farmers. [Source: MAFAR]
