260 ISAL teachers in Cotabato City schools division receive office supplies, equipment from MBHTE

Some 260 Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (ISAL) teachers in the Cotabato City schools division were given office supplies and equipment by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), through its Property and Supply Section (PASS) on Thursday, March 30.
Tahir Nalg, the MBHTE’s Director-General for Madaris Education, said it was “the first time in Bangsamoro history that ISAL (formerly ALIVE) teachers have been provided with such supplies.”

Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal said that initiatives like this are worth sharing and publicizing especially that they benefit the Bangsamoro community.

Each ISAL teacher received clerical table and chair with four-drawer steel cabinet, water dispenser, trash bin, and reference materials.

Concepcion Balawag, Cotabato City Schools Division Superintendent, thanked the MBHTE for the supplies.

"We will sustain the efforts of the (Bangsamoro) Government to attain the lasting peace in Mindanao," Balawag said.

The MBHTE-PASS will continue the distribution to other schools divisions in the region for all ISAL teachers to receive the same supplies and equipment.

“The next target for distribution is the Special Geographic Area (SGA) schools division,” Nalg said.

The SGA covers the 63 barangays that used to be under the province of North Cotabato but they opted to join the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) during a plebiscite in 2019.

ISAL replaced the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) in the BARMM.
