COMELEC sets plebiscite for ratification of 8 municipalities in SGA
Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Del Norte-— The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has scheduled the plebiscite to ratify the creation of eight (8) municipalities in the special geographic area (SGA-BARMM) on April 13, this year.The said municipalities are, Pahamuddin, Kadayangan, Nabalawag, Old Kaabakan, Kapalawan, Malidegao, Tugunan and Ligawasan ,
The new towns will be created out of the 63 barangays in BARMM’s special geographic areas within Cotabato.
Meanwhile, the plebiscite to ratify the creation of Barangays Sultan Corobong, Sultan Panoroganan and Angoyao in Marawi will be held on March 9.
The barangays will be taken from Barangays Dulay Proper, Kilala and Patani if voters will approve their creation.
The BTA Parliament approved the creation of the eight towns on Aug. 17 last year.
