Sarangani Celebrates Harmony and Unity with 14th Provincial Grand Iftar

Themed "Strengthening Community Peace transformation through Trust, Honesty, and Ethics for tomorrow's Generation," the gathering drew over a thousand members of Muslim communities, local officials, guests, and stakeholders from across the province and neighboring towns.
Governor Rogelio Pacquiao expressed his admiration for the steadfastness and discipline exhibited by the Muslim constituents throughout Ramadan. He remarked, “You have all overcome fasting because you believed and believed in the goodness and power of Allah who gives strength, protection, and peace from morning till night. Indeed your discipline and steadfastness throughout Ramadan is a testament to your loyalty and faith in Allah.”
Governor Pacquiao reiterated the commitment of the Provincial Government of Sarangani to support the growth and development of the Moro community. He called for collective efforts in strengthening the province's culture and prosperity, envisioning Sarangani as a beacon of peace and unity.
The event featured esteemed keynote speakers, including Sheikh Adbulkhaliq Abtahi, Sheikh Mohammad Nhor Sawato, and DOST Regional Director Sammy Malawan. Representatives from the Bangsamoro Government, such as MOLE-BARMM Deputy Minister Mr. Tommy Nawa, and BARMM Deputy speaker Atty. Lanang Ali Jr., also graced the occasion, lauding the positive relationship between the provincial government of Sarangani and its Muslim constituents.
Vice Governor Dr. Elmer T. De Peralta and Board Members Hon. Gwynn L. Singcoy and Hon. Joseph M. Calanao were among the local officials present, highlighting the significance of interfaith and intercultural dialogue in the province.
SaBap Madaris Project Manager Ustadj Mohammad Pangolima emphasized the true essence of Ramadan, calling for increased compassion and solidarity towards the less fortunate, while reinforcing a connection with the Creator.
The event saw the participation of Muslim religious leaders, Moro traditional leaders, professionals, provincial government employees, and Asatidh (Madrasah teachers), symbolizing a collective commitment to peace, unity, and mutual respect.
The 14th Provincial Grand Iftar stands as a testament to Sarangani Province's dedication to fostering inclusive communities and nurturing bonds of friendship and understanding among its diverse populace.
