MBHTE, COA-BARMM kick off 2024 audit process for transparency, accountability

COTABATO CITY - The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) and the Commission on Audit of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (COA-BARMM) have commenced the 2024 audit process, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and compliance with the law in all aspects of the Ministry's operations.
The 2024 Entrance Conference, held on Friday, September 27, marked the beginning of the audit process, a critical step in ensuring the proper management of public funds entrusted to the MBHTE for delivering education services across the Bangsamoro region. 
 
The conference provided a platform for the audit team and MBHTE personnel to discuss essential aspects of the audit, including its objectives, schedules, timelines, and methodologies.
 
COA-BARMM Regional Director Rasdy Mitmug stressed the importance of collaboration between the MBHTE and COA in promoting transparency and accountability, emphasizing that the audit's goal is not merely to assess and evaluate, but to work with the MBHTE in its mission to provide inclusive and quality education.
 
MBHTE Deputy Minister Haron Meling, speaking on behalf of Minister Mohagher Iqbal, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to transparency and accountability, stating, "Rest assured of our [MBHTE] commitment that is fully compliant with what the law says."
 
The event was attended by key personnel from the 10 schools divisions offices under Basic Education, seven  Ministry-Supervised Higher Education Institutions, and TESD Provincial Offices and operating units.
 
The 2024 audit process signifies the MBHTE's commitment to ensuring that public resources are utilized efficiently and effectively for the benefit of the Bangsamoro people.
