MBHTE officials honor Bangsamoro teachers on World Teachers' Day

COTABATO CITY - Officials of the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have extended their heartfelt gratitude and support to all teachers in the region on the occasion of World Teachers' Day 2024, recognizing their vital role in shaping the future of the Bangsamoro homeland.
MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal emphasized the theme of the day, "Valuing Teacher Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education," highlighting the importance of teachers' voices in driving positive changes and ensuring access to quality education for all learners.

"You are the backbone of our education system, and your voices are essential in driving the changes we need," stated Iqbal. 

Iqbal said, "As we strive to build a more just and inclusive society, your insights, experiences, and feedback will help shape policies and reforms to address the unique challenges we face in our region."

The Minister also reiterated the MBHTE's commitment to supporting teachers by providing opportunities for professional development, access to resources, and an environment where their voices are heard and acted upon. He emphasized the Ministry's dedication to empowering teachers to deliver the best possible education to the Bangsamoro learners.

"You are the true architects of our future, and your work is invaluable in shaping tomorrow's leaders, thinkers, and changemakers," Iqbal said. 

"On behalf of the MBHTE and the Bangsamoro community, I extend my most profound appreciation and respect to all our teachers," Iqbal concluded.

Meanwhile, Abdullah "Junn" Salik Jr., Director-General of Basic Education under the MBHTE, praised teachers as the "unsung heroes" of society, acknowledging the challenges they face while emphasizing their dedication and resilience in ensuring that education remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for all.

"Our teachers inspire passion for learning, instill discipline, and cultivate a sense of moral responsibility in our Bangsamoro learners," Salik said.
