Long-delayed health emergency allowance released to BARMM health workers

Cotabato City - Ministry of Health (MOH) workers across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are receiving a much-needed boost as the holiday season approaches.  The long-awaited health emergency allowance (HEA) began being distributed on Monday, providing financial support to essential healthcare personnel who played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This release is timely, especially with the holiday season drawing near," Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr., BARMM's health minister, said following a dialogue with some 4,000 recipients of the allowance.

The past week saw a surge in activity at the MOH, with personnel working tirelessly to expedite the fund distribution process.

Sinolinding emphasized that the HEA covers both essential healthcare workers and non-health volunteers who provided services during the pandemic, regardless of their employment status. Eligible health workers will receive monthly allowances ranging from PHP3,000 to PHP9,000, depending on the risk level of their assigned areas, categorized as low, moderate, or high risk.

The health minister expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, and the Department of Health (DOH) Central Office for their role in facilitating the release of the funds for BARMM health workers.

The release of the HEA is a significant step in recognizing the invaluable contributions of healthcare professionals who risked their lives to combat the pandemic.  This financial assistance is a tangible demonstration of the government's commitment to supporting and honoring their sacrifices.
