Cotabato City - The Bangsamoro Transition  Authority (BTA) Parliament's Committee on Finance, Budget, and Management has approved a P136.8 million budget for the Bangsamoro Pilgrimage Authority (BPA) for the fiscal year 2025. This allocation will support the BPA's efforts in facilitating the pilgrimage of Muslims in the region, particularly the Hajj and Umrah.

BPA Executive Director Said Salendab expressed that the budget is crucial for ensuring a smooth, safe, and compliant pilgrimage experience for Bangsamoro Muslims. 

"This budget will be vital in ensuring that our Muslims can perform their pilgrimage with ease, safety, and in accordance with established guidelines," Salendab stated.

 

The budget allocation includes a special focus on supporting former combatants on their religious journey.  This demonstrates the Bangsamoro government's commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that all members of the community have equal opportunities to perform their religious duties.

 

Furthermore, the budget will be used to enhance the BPA's information, education, and communication (IEC) campaigns. This will ensure that Bangsamoro pilgrims are well-informed about the Hajj process, health protocols, and travel requirements.

 

The BPA is responsible for overseeing all pilgrimage activities in the region. This includes formulating and implementing programs to efficiently manage the movement of pilgrims, as well as providing support services to ensure compliance with Hajj and Umrah requirements.

 

The approved budget is expected to significantly improve the overall pilgrimage experience for Bangsamoro pilgrims, providing them with greater support and resources to fulfill their religious obligations.
