MBHTE welcomes new personnel, stresses teacher competency for quality education

Cotabato City – The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) welcomed a new batch of personnel to its ranks, with 40 newly appointed individuals taking their oaths of office on December 20. 2024.
The ceremony, held at the MBHTE Main Office, saw 23 teachers, 9 teaching-related personnel, and 8 non-teaching staff officially join the ministry. The new appointees will be deployed across Special Geographic Areas (SGA) and the main office.
 
In his address, Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal stressed the importance of teacher competency in achieving quality education in the Bangsamoro. He underscored the need to invest in teacher training and development to ensure that every learner receives a quality education.
 
"Competence is the foundation of quality education," stated Iqbal. 

"We must prioritize the competence of our teachers, followed by administration, resources, and government support. But ultimately, the success of our educational endeavors lies with you – the teachers," Iqbal said.
 
The minister also reminded the new personnel of their crucial role in shaping the future of education in the Bangsamoro region.
 
HRMO Chief Monette E. Estacio-Kari reinforced this sentiment, urging the new appointees to prioritize their obligations over their rights.  

"I hope you perform your duties and responsibilities with utmost professionalism," she emphasized.
 
The MBHTE's commitment to quality education and its drive to ensure no Bangsamoro learner is left behind are evident in the appointment of these new individuals. The ministry's focus on teacher competency and its emphasis on professionalism bode well for the future of education in the region.
