Libungan, North Cotabato - The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) held a Provincial Assembly and Caravan at the Blue Palm Mountain Resort in Libungan, North Cotabato, on December 26 bringing together key stakeholders and partners to celebrate its accomplishments in 2024 and outline future development initiatives.

The event, part of a series of year-end assemblies across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), drew over 313 participants, including MSSD staff, Municipal Social Welfare Officers, Child Development Workers, and representatives from partner agencies.

 

MSSD Bangsamoro Director-General Mohammad Muktadir Ahmad Estrella emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, highlighting the assembly as a platform to inform the public about the utilization of funds and the progress made in addressing the needs of marginalized sectors.

 

Minister Raissa Jajurie of the MSSD delivered a keynote message, outlining the ministry's significant strides in implementing social protection programs and empowering vulnerable communities. She presented impactful initiatives and detailed various programs and services aimed at uplifting the lives of the Bangsamoro people.

 

Special Geographic Area Development Authority (SGADA) Administrator Butch Malang, in his response, underscored the collaborative efforts between MSSD and SGADA in addressing the needs of Special Geographic Area (SGA) communities. 

He reaffirmed SGADA's commitment to supporting Bangsamoro's inclusive development goals.

 

The event also included a ceremony recognizing partner agencies and stakeholders for their contributions to MSSD's success.  

Plaques of recognition were awarded to SGADA, Local Government Units, partner hospitals, Land Bank of the Philippines, and Municipal Social Welfare Offices.

 

Jajurie inducted newly hired SGA staff, symbolizing their commitment to the Ministry's mandate, and recognized outstanding field social workers for their dedication to their communities.

 

The assembly concluded with a variety show showcasing the talents of MSSD staff, including dance performances and community singing.

 

The MSSD Provincial Assembly and Caravan in the SGA served as a platform to highlight the Ministry's dedication to providing holistic and responsive social services and its commitment to partnerships and community engagement.
