Maguindanao, Lanao benefit from BARMM's governance, education initiatives

Cotabato City -- The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) continues to invest in its communities, with two significant projects inaugurated recently as announced in a statement by the Bangsamo Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament on Thursday.

In Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur, a new two-story barangay hall was officially opened in Barangay Kakal. Funded by the Transitional Development and Impact Fund (TDIF) of Member of Parliament Ali B. Sangki and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), the hall is expected to enhance the capacity of local leaders to deliver services and promote sustainable development.

"This is not just a building," said MP Sangki during the turnover ceremony, "but a symbol of peace, progress, and good governance."

He emphasized the importance of investing in local infrastructure to empower leaders and ensure better governance for the people.

Barangay Captain Yahiya Sangki expressed gratitude to MP Sangki and the MILG for the new facility.

Meanwhile, six Madaris institutions in Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte received financial assistance from the Office of Member of Parliament Said Shiek in partnership with the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS). The program, aimed at supporting the education sector, will provide funding for repairs and essential educational resources. The financial aid is drawn from Shiek's TDIF and is part of the Ministry's Vulnerable, Neglected, and Marginalized Institutions (VNMI) program, which focuses on addressing the needs of educational facilities lacking adequate infrastructure and resources.

"We are committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, have access to quality education," said Shiek.

"This financial assistance will help these Madaris institutions provide a better learning environment for their students," he said.

These projects demonstrate the BARMM's commitment to improving local governance and strengthening the education sector across the region.
