BMN Releases Second Report on Voters’ Education Initiatives for May 2025 Elections

The initiatives, which focus on empowering communities through electoral education, are designed to ensure informed participation in the upcoming elections and foster a deeper understanding of the Bangsamoro Peace Process.
Among the major accomplishments in the report is the Voter’s Education Training for Trainers activity, which took place on September 20-21, 2024, in Sultan Kudarat. There were 33 BIAF members who attended the training session which equipped participants with the tools necessary to educate their communities about the electoral process.
The BMN organized several community roll-outs across various MILF camps, including Camp Badre in Guindulungan, Maguindanao del Sur on September 28, Camp Omar in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur on October 31, and Camp Rajah Muda in Ligawasan, Special Geographic Area (SGA) on December 5.
These roll-outs reached a wide audience, providing valuable information about voting rights and the Bangsamoro electoral system.
Another significant achievement is the Advanced Social Media Training held on December 3-4, 2024, in Cotabato City. This two-day session was aimed at enhancing the digital outreach capabilities of Civil Society Organization partners involved in voter education, including groups such as UNYPAD, UVPN, TLWOI, and others.
The BMN has also distributed 808 pieces of Voters’ Education Materials designed by MOSEP with BIO-BARMM, which were handed out during training sessions and community roll-outs. These materials are intended to help communities better understand the electoral process and encourage informed voting.
The BMN report also highlights the launch of the Voter’s Education Program on October 29, 2024, which airs every Tuesday from 10 AM to 11 AM on DXJC Voice FM Cotabato and Bangsamoro Communication Network radio frequencies. The program has proven to be a vital tool in reaching the broader community, with over 5,600 individuals tuning in to learn about electoral issues and the importance of voting. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, indicating a strong interest in the educational content provided.
BMN's ongoing efforts aim to strengthen local governance frameworks, promote electoral awareness, and contribute to the sustainable peacebuilding process in the Bangsamoro region.
