MBHTE-BARMM boosts education with new school construction in Maguindanao del Norte

Cotabato City – The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM) is moving forward with plans to construct new school buildings and facilities across Maguindanao del Norte, signifying a significant investment in education for the region.
MBHTE-BARMM Minister Mohagher Iqbal emphasized the importance of these projects, stating, “We are not just laying the foundation for buildings; we are laying the foundation for our children’s future. These projects are a commitment to ensuring that every Bangsamoro learner has a safe and nurturing space to learn and grow.”
 
On Wednesday, February 5, MBHTE officials participated in groundbreaking ceremonies for PHP32.6 million worth of infrastructure projects in the School Division Office of Maguindanao del Norte.
 
These projects include:
 
- A one-story, two-classroom building at Mompong Elementary School in Barangay Bugawas, Datu Odin Sinsuat.
 
- Construction of four new schools: Sarilikha National High School, Taviran Elementary School, Linek Elementary School, and Margues Elementary School.
 
- A covered court with a stage for Margues Elementary School in Barangay Makir, Datu Odin Sinsuat.
 
- A water sanitation project, including water source development, for Datu Pinguiaman Elementary School in Barangay Pinguiaman, Datu Odin Sinsuat.
 
- An Educational Learning Center in Barangay Bugawas.
 
The MBHTE has also begun constructing school facilities in the Special Geographic Area (SGA) of BARMM, signifying a commitment to expanding access to quality education across the entire region.
 
These infrastructure projects demonstrate the Bangsamoro government's commitment to investing in its future generations. By providing safe and conducive learning environments, the MBHTE aims to enhance educational opportunities and create a brighter future for the children of the Bangsamoro.
