Bangsamoro Government to offer subsidized Hajj, prioritizing decommissioned combatants

Cotabato City – The Bangsamoro Government will provide subsidized Hajj (pilgrimage) to 350 individuals, prioritizing 200 decommissioned combatants, 150 former combatants, and 22 office personnel. This announcement follows a crucial coordination meeting between the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ (BDI) and the Bangsamoro Pilgrimage Authority (BPA), setting the stage for the upcoming Hajj Program (Manasikul Hajj) for Bangsamoro constituents.
The meeting focused on streamlining the program's processes to ensure its success and pave the way for future collaborations aimed at supporting the Bangsamoro community in religious and social endeavors.

Deputy Executive Director Norodin Salam highlighted the significance of the meeting with the Ulama, emphasizing its role in strengthening the preparedness of Bangsamoro pilgrims.

"This historic meeting with our Ulama signifies a vital step in preparing our pilgrims for Hajj 2025,” said Salam.

The Ulama from BDI will serve as mentors, accompanying pilgrims throughout their journey to provide guidance and support.

Key discussions included the importance of conducting a Hajj simulation to familiarize participants with essential pilgrimage aspects. The BDI Islamic Jurist is currently developing a comprehensive Hajj Module, with the BPA playing a crucial role in its implementation and providing religious and advisory guidance. The BPA will also oversee participant data validation and manage the program's operational flow.

This collaboration between BDI and BPA underscores the importance of shared responsibility and strengthens the partnership between these key institutions.

The initiative highlights the BARMM's commitment to supporting former combatants in their spiritual journey while fostering peace and unity among the Bangsamoro people.
