Bangsamoro Government boosts local governance with new barangay halls in Maguindanao del Sur

Maguindanao del Sur – The Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), is investing in strengthening local governance in Maguindanao del Sur with the construction of new modern barangay halls in four villages.
On February 12, MILG led groundbreaking ceremonies for the buildings in Barangays Kanguan and Montay in Datu Piang; Kitango in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, and Campo Islam in Paglat.

Modern Barangay Halls to Serve as Hubs for Community Engagement

These new barangay halls will serve as essential hubs for grassroots decision-making, civic involvement, and public service, providing well-equipped spaces for community leaders and residents to collaborate.

MILG Minister Atty. Sha-Elijah Dumama-Alba emphasized that the project is more than just infrastructure development.

"Strong local governance begins with accessible and functional barangay halls. These Barangay Halls will be the heart of each community, where people can come together, voice their concerns, and seek solutions. The progress of Bangsamoro rests on our ability to build institutions that genuinely serve the people,” Dumama-Alba said in a message read by MILG Project Manager Jul Rashed Kasid.

Aligning with BARMM's Development Agenda

The construction of these barangay halls is aligned with the Enhanced 12-Point Agenda of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod  Ebrahim, particularly in strengthening local governance and ensuring efficient service delivery.

By providing these well-equipped spaces, the BARMM government reinforces its commitment to bringing meaningful change to every Bangsamoro household.
