BARMM Chief Minister Macacua condemns "inexcusable" ambush killing of election officer, husband

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the incident, calling it "utterly inexcusable" and a violation of the values of peace and compassion that the Bangsamoro strives to uphold.
"This act of violence, committed during the sacred month of Ramadan, a time for peace, restraint, and self-purification, is utterly inexcusable and goes against everything we believe in as Muslims,” Macacua declared.
Macacua said, "Violence and evil deeds have no room in our society – not now, not ever."
He affirmed the commitment to building a region rooted in justice, peace, and compassion, and vowed that those responsible for this heinous crime will be met with the full force of the law.
The Chief Minister extended his deepest condolences to the families of Jojo and Maceda Abo, recognizing their dedication to public service and emphasizing the loss to the entire Bangsamoro region.
Macacua urged the people of Datu Odin Sinsuat and the entire Bangsamoro to unite in support of law enforcement and to stand against fear.
"We cannot and will not allow fear to rule our communities," he said.
The Chief Minister concluded his statement by reaffirming the pursuit of justice and peace in the region. "Justice will be served. And peace, in shaa Allah, will prevail," he stated.
